2" Suspention Lift

I got a set of used 2" Cornfed Spacers and BPV bracket, a used set of rear extended length shocks, and a new set of Downey extended Length Rubicon sytle Shackles.

I got a set of spring compressors from Autozone (free rental). I used my rachet set, I borrowed a few tools from my neighbors, and I got someone to help me.

Tools

We did the front first, and started by reading the Cornfed instructions that I found to be quite helpful. Then we removed the coil packs.

Remove & Replace

Next compress the springs, take the coil pack apart (keeping the springs compressed), put the spacer in place (refer to cornfed instuctions), and put it all back together.

The rear was much more interesting, and started by removing the spair tire and jacking up the back of the truck. The shocks were easy enough, just unbolt the old one's pry them off and replace with new one's with new bushings. The picture below has the right side with the old shock totally extended with the wheel off the ground, and the left side has the new longer shock partly installed with the wheel on the ground. You may also notice that the shackles have been removed.

Short Shock

Replacing the Shackles was another story. The old stock one's were rusted in so bad that I never got them out compleatly. I ended up melting the rubber part of the bushings out, and using the old bushings from the old shocks for the shackles.

Melted Out!

The exahaust had to be choped off on the lift because the leaf springs hit the exhaust pipe. A power saw with a metal cutting blade works great, but a hack saw will work if you've got the time.

The Break Positioning Valve bracket also needs to added so the rear breakes work properly.

That's about it for the lift. I then went to my local tire shop and got some 32x11.50 Perelli Scorpian's and here's the final result:
